Century 21 agent allows home to `go to the dogs'
When
he heard 12 "celebrity" Dalmatians would need a place to stay while
attending a charitable event in Las Vegas, David Abraham of Century 21
MoneyWorld came to the rescue.
Abraham and his wife, Valerie, agreed to house
the dogs during their weekend visit last May.
"It was quite a sight to come home from
work and see them all out there," David Abraham said. "It got to
the point where we were able to distinguish them by their markings and
personalities. They were very well-behaved, and mainly just played together
in the back yard."
Coincidentally, the Abrahams have a Dalmatian
of their own, Gracie.
"Poor Gracie didn't know whether to play
or run and hide," Abraham said.
The dogs were in town to attend a photo
session with local firefighters who had posed for a calendar to benefit the
Muscular Dystrophy Association.
What made the couple's guests special was that
all of the dogs had been abandoned and subsequently rescued by Dalmatian
ResQ, an organization based in Riverside/Orange County in California. Randy
Warner started the rescue operation to help control the problem of abandoned
and abused Dalmatians.
Warner said the dogs were invited to the
session, which was held at The Forum Shops at Caesars, because of their
visual appeal and to be paired with the firefighters. He transported the
animals in a minivan from their home in California.
"It was quite a sight," Warner said.
"You can't imagine what it was like; twelve Dalmatians and one friend in
a seven-seat van. We were getting looks from every car that passed by."
Abraham works in the commercial division of
the realty firm's office on Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas. The company has four
offices in the Las Vegas area.
